Polagam (south indian rice dish with pepper)

Ingredients:-

Rice- 1 cup
Moong dal-1/2 cup (pesarapappu)
Green chillis-3 chopped
Ghee-1 tbsp
oil-1 tbsp
salt to taste
Whole pepper- 1 tbsp
Mustard seeds- 1/2 tbsp
Curry leaves-5 count
Zeera - 1/2 tbsp
Cashew -1 tbsp( if intrested)
Water-6 cups


Procedure:-

1-Take a pan add half cup of moong dal and fry it until it turns into golden colour and keep aside.
2- Now take a pressure cooker and add ghee and oil heat it then add the mustard seeds, zeera, green chillis, curry leaves, pepper whole and cashew and fry until golden colour.
3-Now add the water and add salt and turmeric to it and boil the water.  when the water starts boiling add the rice and fried moong dal to it and close the lid.
4-Cook it until 7 to 8 vessels. ready to eat.

Actually we eat this mostly as prasadam in temples.It is aklso very tasty and easy to prepare. It looks in the paste form and it is if u dont like to eat like that then decrease the water and vessels  then the rice looks  separately.
